Media Workshop Organised by the Pastoral & Environmental Network in the Horn of Africa (PENHA) hosted by the Centre for Development and Emergency Practice (CENDEP), Oxford Brookes University
PENHA in partnership with Centre for Development and Emergency Practice (CENDEP) of Oxford Brookes University would like to invite you to a workshop on media and food security in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Through a series of tailored media education workshops, the Food We Want (FWW) project aims to raise awareness, understanding, and the interests of media and development issues students in Universities within the wider European community on the topic of food security. This project intends to discuss the people’s current perceptions of food security and the way in which these perceptions are disseminated by the European media. In addressing the myths and realities of food security through these workshops, the FWW project means to facilitate the communication and information flow throughout young people on this topic, in hopes to encourage ambition for positive change—such as promoting and implementing sustainable agriculture techniques and policies—which would be reflected throughout their future careers. The PENHA-Oxford Brookes media workshop aims at devising alternative media strategies in promoting better understanding of food security in SSA through youth-centred participatory approaches.
